Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS/FPG) - Fasting required; usually 8–12 hours Random Blood Sugar (RBS/RPG) - Fasting not required Postprandial Blood Sugar (PPBS) - Fasting not required; measured after a meal, commonly 2 hours after eating HbA1c - Fasting not required OGTT - Fasting required; fasting is generally required before the test Insulin (fasting insulin) - Fasting required C-Peptide - Depends on the purpose/protocol; fasting may be requested
